How to connect with your student using the Canvas Parent mobile app.
- Download the Canvas Parent app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the Canvas Parent app, tap the Find my School button, enter DeKalb County School District, GA, and proceed.
- Tap Create Account link at the bottom of the login page.
- Fill out the signup form, including the pairing code (see below) that was shared with you, and tap Start Participating. The pairing code can be received from your child’s teacher.
- You’re now connected!
Accessing Student Pairing Code from Canvas Student Account
(Access Canvas Student via Launchpad/Clever)
- Go to students.dekalbschoolsga.org.
- Click on the Canvas Student icon.
- From the global navigation tab of Canvas, select Account.
- Click Settings.
- Select Pair with Observer on the settings page.
- Share the pairing code with your parent to allow them to connect to the student account in Canvas. (Please note that the code must be used in seven days or after one use. Students can have up to five pairing codes per account.)
FAMILY & COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT
Everyone benefits when parents and families are involved in their student’s education. Not only do students do better in school, but parents feel more connected, as well. The Department of Family & Community Empowerment offers programs and services for students to improve their academic achievement.
It offer classes and trainings for parents and families to help them become academic partners for their children and to become more self-sufficient. They offer opportunities for the community to share their voice and partner to create stronger schools.
