Counseling
In an effort to support our Henderson Community, the PTSA wanted to provide resources for parents of middle school students. Some of these may be familiar to you and some may be new. Our goal is that this page can be a starting point for providing assistance to you and your family.
If you or your child would like to talk with a professional, contact your pediatrician, your insurance company, or search the https://www.psychologytoday.com/ database.

DOWNLOAD DR. LIM'S MATERIALS FROM PTSA PROGRAM ON HANDLING STUDENT STRESS, ANXIETY, AND DEPRESSION
Many thanks to the parents that attended last night's presentation on "Coping with Stress, Anxiety, and Depression." Dr.Nori Lim from Emory shared interesting and helpful information about child and teen development, the importance of emotions, and the critical skills needed to navigate stressful situations. If you missed out, please take time to review the presentation that was shared, and as Dr.Lim suggested, print slides 29-34 (Thinking Mistakes) to discuss with your child. The handouts from last night also included assessment tools for determining your own stress levels as well as those of your student. They are available as well.
